Why Weather is built to need as little of your data as possible. There are no accounts, no ads, and no third-party analytics or trackers.
What we use, and why
- Location. When you choose a place or use "current location," the coordinates are sent to our weather service to fetch your forecast and to Mapbox to turn searches into places. They aren't tied to your identity or kept beyond serving the request.
- Notifications. If you turn them on, your device's push token and saved location are stored so we can send weather alerts and your daily briefing. Turning notifications off removes them.
- Sky. Messages you send Sky, along with the current weather context, are sent to Anthropic to generate a reply. Please don't share anything sensitive in chat.
- Subscriptions. Purchases are handled by Apple and RevenueCat. We receive only your subscription status, tied to an anonymous app ID—never your name, email, or payment details.
- On your device. Your settings, saved places, and a recent-forecast cache stay on your device.
What we don't do
We don't sell or share your data, show ads, run analytics or trackers, or require an account.
Weather data
Forecasts come from third-party providers (Open-Meteo, NOAA/NWS, OpenWeatherMap, Foreca, and Apple WeatherKit). Apple WeatherKit data is subject to Apple's data-source terms.
